Biography

Jonathan Hoffmann, LCSW,  is the Field Director for the Department of Social Work. He is a qualified supervisor who provides supervision for licensure-seeking registered interns in the state of Florida. His clinical practice experience includes inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment and mental health counseling, specializing in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders and trauma-related issues. His clinical and theoretical interests include Jungian psychology, existential psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing. 

Jonathan received his Master of Social Work in 2015 from the University of West Florida and sought licensure in 2020. He is currently working towards an Ed.D. with anticipated completion in 2027. Jonathan teaches substance use treatment and assessment, mind/body and positive psychology, and field seminar. Jonathan is currently engaged in Action Research to improve the functioning of the Social Work Field Office and its impact on students and the greater community. His other research interests include the confluence of AI and higher education administration. In his time away from UWF, Jonathan enjoys performing music, mountain biking, cooking, and weight lifting.
