Biography

Dr. Erin King, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work, is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida. Her practice experience includes hospital social work, school social work, work within the court system (domestic violence), substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling with children, adolescents, and adults, and family counseling. Her research interests include the intersection of trauma and mental health, women’s reentry from prison, women’s health issues, and the child welfare workforce.

 

Degrees & Institutions

Dr. King received her Ph.D. from Florida State University in 2019. Her dissertation was titled “An Exploration of the Effects of Primary and Secondary Trauma Exposure on Child Welfare Workers’ Mental Health and Commitment to the Field.”
