Biography
Lieutenant Jamie J. Lewis is a native of the Pensacola, FL area. He received an Associate of Arts in General Education at Northwest Florida State College in 2010, a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of West Florida (UWF) in 2012, and a Master of Science in Exercise Science from UWF in 2015. During his time at UWF he completed a 300 hour physical therapy internship with Medical Center Clinic Physical Therapy, a 150 hour internship with Move Period Personal Training & Strength and Conditioning, served as a teaching and research graduate assistant with the Exercise Science department, and completed his Graduate Thesis with advisors Dr. Ludmilla Cosio-Lima, and Dr. Youngil Lee.
Upon graduation, LT Lewis continued to work with Destini Robinson at Move Period and as a Fitness Specialist with Corporate Fitness Works at Navy Federal Credit Union. LT Lewis earned a Direct Commission into the United States Navy in 2020 and subsequently reported to Officer Development School (ODS), Newport, RI. Upon graduation from ODS, he reported to the Naval Aviation Medical Institute in Pensacola, FL for training as a Student Naval Aerospace and Operational Physiologist (NAOP), where he received both flight and aeromedical training. In February 2021, he earned his Medical Service Corps Wings as Naval Aerospace and Operational Physiologist #375.
He currently serves as the TW-6 Aeromedical Safety Officer, providing aeromedical support and training to T-6A and T-45C student naval flight officers (NFO), instructor pilots and instructor NFO’s across four resident and foreign exchange squadrons. He also serves as the Command Fitness Leader and Airsickness Program Manager at the Wing and oversees training for all squadron staff and students.
LT Lewis’s personal awards and accomplishments include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, a U.S. Marine Corps Certificate of Commendation, and the Student NAOP Course Honor Graduate Commendation.
