He was the ATC for Tate High School from 2006-2014 and then spent 2014-2018 as a clinical ATC in Gulf Breeze, Florida. In 2018, he started his business, Pillar of Light Performance LLC, as a personal trainer.

JL’s business focuses on helping clients live functional and fulfilling lives.  Most of his clientele are retirees, individuals being discharged from official physical therapy, and golfers of all ages and skills.  He is certified with the Titleist Performance Institute as a Level 2 Fitness Professional, where he evaluates and trains high school, collegiate, and amateur golfers.

JL and his business partner, Emily Morgan, also run their business, Northwest Florida Center for ELDOA™.  They are both certified in the ELDOA™ method; Emily is a Level 4 Trainer, and JL is a Level 2 Practitioner.  Their clients come to them for a holistic way to help with spine and joint issues.

JL is an avid golfer and a father of two boys.  One is serving in the Army, and the other is a college student pursuing a career in radiology.
