Harrison graduated from the University of West Florida in 2015, with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. After graduation, he went on to be an exercise specialist at Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. During his time as an exercise specialist, he implemented a high intensity interval training program with cardiac patients. He worked directly with interns from UWF’s Exercise Science program as they completed their internship at the Cardiac Rehab facility. After two years at this position, he was accepted into medical school at Florida State University College of Medicine. Further, he was accepted into the Health Professional Scholarship Program (HPSP) through the United States Navy and was commissioned as a Naval Officer in July 2018. During medical school he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his academic and clinical achievements. Upon graduation he will be moving to San Diego, California, to complete his five-year Orthopedic Residency at Naval Medical Center, Balboa. Harrison takes pride in being a valuable resource to the Exercise Science advisory committee and can be an asset to any student wanting to pursue a career as an Exercise Specialist, MD, DO, PA, or military health professional.
