TeacherReady Clinical Educator Training

Clinical Education refers to a systematic process of support and mentoring of potential teachers by a professionally certified and trained educator. The clinical educator demonstrates a positive mindset, excellent observational skills, ability to provide direct and specific feedback about classroom teaching and learning, and models effective teaching and professional behaviors.


The state of Florida requires Clinical Educator Training (CET) for all school district personnel and instructional personnel who supervise or direct teacher preparation students during their clinical experience courses or internships.

Essential Skills

Upon completion of Clinical Educator Training (CET), clinical educators will demonstrate mastery in these skills:

  1. Developing a growth mindset and applying the growth mindset to their work with developing educators.  
  2. Conducting effective content planning conferences with developing educators.
  3. Becoming an expert observer and diagnostician of teaching and learning.
  4. Providing targeted feedback to developing educators about their teaching practices.
