For TeacherReady graduate Danielle Perruccio, becoming a teacher was a journey built on determination and a passion for helping students grow. While pursuing a master’s degree and working full-time as an interventionist, Danielle sought a teaching certification that would help her take the next step in her career while offering flexibility to accommodate her busy schedule. TeacherReady at the University of West Florida offered just that.

Danielle found that strategies introduced in TeacherReady quickly became valuable tools in the classroom, including scaffolding lessons that cater instruction to the different learning needs of each student. The program strengthened her approach to teaching and built her confidence as an educator.

Beyond instructional strategies, one of the most meaningful parts of the experience was realizing how supportive the education community can be. Through the field experience and collaboration with other educators, Danielle learned the importance of seeking advice, sharing ideas and relying on others for support during a teaching career. She also shared that the most rewarding part of it all was the connection with students.

“What I love most about teaching is the relationships I built with my students and being someone they can rely on themselves,” she shared.

For anyone considering TeacherReady, Danielle encourages future educators to take the leap, especially those hesitant due to work and other commitments.

“This is a great program where you are able to work full-time and at your own pace for the program. It taught me so much in such a short time, and I worked with some amazing people to become a teacher.”
