Why Study Sport Management at UWF?
Can you picture yourself negotiating a sponsorship contract or a multimillion-dollar deal for a team you represent? Enroll in UWF's sport management degree program and acquire the skills you need.
Our program offers close faculty-student interactions and mentorships to help you grow professionally. Our location offers unique opportunities to be involved in sports sectors related to the beach and the bay, in addition to opportunities presented by other sports.
What You Will Learn
Sports management ensures the successful operation of sports organizations and operations including professional teams, intercollegiate athletics, community sport, recreational sport, sports facilities, national and international amateur sports organizations, and sports marketing and sponsorship.
You will study the various sectors of the sports industry while learning effective business and management skills. Our curriculum has four critical components: major required courses, major elective courses, practicum and major-related courses.
The program strongly emphasizes experiential learning, such as class projects related to fieldwork, sports market research, and capstone projects. The practicum will offer you practical experiences in the sports industry as early as the start of your junior year.
Considering a major in another field? A minor in sport management provides you with the knowledge you need to apply your major in a sport setting.
UWF programs offered at the Pensacola campus or UWF Emerald Coast may require online courses. Discuss the program requirements and planning with your academic advisor.
