Biography
Amy Ruth is GuideWell and Florida Blue’s Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). She leads the people strategy, talent management, learning and development, culture and employee experience. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Chairs the Personnel and Compensation Committee for GuideWell Source, Inc.
Prior to her role as CHRO, Ruth was the President of Incepture, a subsidiary of Florida Blue focused on professional staffing and printing solutions. As President, she was responsible for the strategic direction and successful execution of the company’s objectives. Prior to her tenure at Incepture, she served in various leadership roles with a variety of organizations including TriServ Alliance, InterContinental Hotels Group, Willis Towers Watson and SunTrust Banks, Inc.
Ruth is active in the community and supports many different organizations across Northeast Florida. She serves on the board for Pine Castle and is a member of the Equality Means Business Advisory Board. She also serves as one of the 2021 co-chairs for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. She actively supports the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation and the American Heart Association. She served on the board for the Jacksonville Speech and Hearing Center (2013-2019) and was the LUNG FORCE Chair in Jacksonville (2018-2019).
She was recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal in 2012 as an “Ultimate HR Executive” and again in 2014 as one of Northeast Florida’s “Women of Influence.” In 2021, the Jacksonville Business Journal chose her as one of ten inaugural “HR Impact Award Honorees.” In 2017, she was honored by the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council as a “Woman of Distinction” and in 2020 she was chosen by Volunteers in Medicine as a “Woman with Heart.”
Ruth holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia and completed the Advanced Human Resource Executive program at Michigan Ross in 2017. She is a member of the Leadership Florida Cornerstone Program, Class 38.
