What is Argos Conservation Corps?

The Argos Conservation Corps (AC2) is an organization dedicated to conservation at UWF. It does this by developing heartware throughout the greater UWF community. Heartware is an emotional toolkit composed of a community’s values and actions. The goal of AC2 is to foster a sense of connection to the UWF Conservation Areas and empower community members to participate in stewardship. Membership is open to UWF faculty, staff, and students, as well as members of the greater UWF community, and requires only a sense of responsibility maintaining the natural beauty of our region. AC2 aims to connect existing programs and organizations and foster collaborative action. Below is a list of organizations already concerned with maintaining our Conservation Areas. Please reach out to the UWF Conservation program if you are interested in collaborating with us.

Volunteer

AC2 is our volunteering hub. We depend on community members who care about making these habitats healthy and enjoyable. Volunteers are essential to conservation at UWF. They are the ones who maintain trails, help with resource management and soon, we will need their help conducting prescribed burns.

You can be part of restoring and maintaining these beautiful natural spaces. This program is open to anyone who cares about conservation and the UWF Conservation Areas, whether or not they are affiliated with the University. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out a Argos Conservation Corps volunteer form and we will reach out to you about upcoming opportunities once AC2 projects become active. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!
