Support Conservation Work

A dirt trail that splits into left and right paths in the woods.

Volunteer

Argos Conservation Corps (AC2) is our volunteering hub, and you can learn more about it on the Argos Conservation Corps page. We depend on community members who care about making these habitats healthy and enjoyable. Volunteers are essential to conservation at UWF. They are the ones who maintain the trails, and soon, we will need their help conducting prescribed burns.

You can be part of restoring and maintaining these beautiful natural spaces. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the Argos Conservation Corps volunteer form and we will reach out to you about upcoming opportunities once AC2 projects become active. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Donations are essential to the success and longevity of the UWF Conservation Program. By donating to this program, you enable it to not only protect and manage over one thousand acres of natural land but also to engage the community in conservation programming. You can support our program by visiting the UWF Development giving form page. Thank you for considering supporting our work!

We are currently seeking funding for the following areas.

Director of Conservation - $2,000,000: Endowment to fund a permanent, full-time, Director of Conservation. This would include a UWF Conservation Program or Living Lab naming opportunity.

UWF Living Labs - $300,000: A six year ($50k/year), internal grant program to fund learning, research and engagement opportunities for UWF and the community related to our conservation areas. Through interdisciplinary research and cross-program activities and events, the UWF Living lab will be a cultural, recreational, educational and research destination haven for our region.

Argos Conservation Corps - $150,000: Further develop the Argos Conservation Corps program (modeled after AmeriCorps) which will serve as the boots-on-the-ground for the management of our natural resources and the UWF Living Lab program. Provide training opportunities in the natural resource management and conservation fields of study.

Graduate Student Funding - $100,000: Stipend and tuition support for graduate students for 3 years to help the Director of Conservation to further develop and manage the UWF Conservation Program.

Project Supplies: We have an ongoing need for supplies to support all three projects that make up the UWF Conservation Program. No donation is too small!
