Formed in 1996, the UWF Leisure Learning Society has been providing personal growth and engagement opportunities for individuals 50 and better for nearly 30 years. Experience high-quality instruction from community professionals, current and retired UWF faculty, business owners, and Leisure Learning members with unique skillsets and extensive knowledge.
Besides being great for your brain, learning in class-based environments can expand your social circle through new connections with similar interests. Courses facilitate productive discourse between individuals with diverse viewpoints and provide a container for listening to ideas that you may not have been exposed to and opportunities to ask questions. Leisure Learning members are a mix of full-time community residents as well as plenty of snowbirds, retirees, military and others from interesting, diverse backgrounds, all with one thing in common—the desire to learn, grow and improve while having fun!

Amplify Your Community and Social Connections
Defined as an “ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge,” lifelong learning enhances social connections while emphasizing personal development. UWF Leisure Learning facilitates relationships between the individuals, businesses and community organizations that shape Pensacola.
“When people ask me about Leisure Learning classes, I say they are not typical or traditional classes. They are field trips, explorations and presentations. Leisure Learning is a gateway to discovery, connection, and lifelong curiosity,” said UWF Leisure Learning Director Julie Still-Rolin. “I believe learning should be an adventure—accessible, enriching, and most importantly, enjoyable. We go on learning adventures every week in our program.”
Learn something new, interact with peers, stay social and avoid boredom with UWF Leisure Learning.
