A Spirit of Lifelong Learning and Discovery: Bodacious Shops
May 5, 2025 | Heather Fletcher

UWF Leisure Learning celebrates The Bodacious Family of Shops and their unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and community enrichment. Located in the heart of downtown Pensacola, Bodacious is more than a collection of vibrant shops but a hub for connection, curiosity, generosity and lifelong learning.
Many of our members have experienced firsthand the inviting spaces inside Bodacious Shops, the Studer Community Institute, Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel, Bubba’s Sweet Spot and the Blue Wahoos Stadium. These spaces have become treasured venues for class—and some of the first to fill each semester for good reason! From food and wine classes to business workshops and cultural tours, each experience is enriched by the welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful hospitality that define the Bodacious brand.
This spirit of lifelong learning is a shared mission of Leisure Learning and Bodacious. Quint and Rishy Studer, owners of Bodacious, have long believed in investing in Pensacola’s future through education, leadership and revitalization. Through the Studer Community Institute and other local ventures, they’ve helped elevate downtown into a thriving center of learning, innovation and engagement. The Bodacious Shops themselves, including a cafe, olive oil and vinegar shop, coffee roastery and kitchenware store, are built to spark joy and foster community, often as a backdrop for hands-on learning and shared discovery.
“The Studers became involved in Leisure Learning more than a decade ago and have enhanced our program with their generosity and kindness,” said Dr. Louise Tolbert, Leisure Learning Curriculum Committee member. “They have provided us with classroom space, offered us the use of their employees to teach classes and even suggested classes. There is no end to their involvement and assistance; we are so grateful to them.”
“We believe in this community and getting people downtown, showing them what’s available and exposing them to things they may not do on their own, and this is where you come in with Leisure Learning," said Rishy Studer. "You expose them to places like our shop where they might never go. And, we just think that it’s a fine program and doing its best for the seniors and the community at large.”
This is just one example of a community partner that supports Leisure Learning participants to explore new places, try new things and continue their personal growth in environments that encourage connection and creativity.
"I appreciate the support of Leisure Learning from the Studers and the employees of their businesses, said Julie Still-Rolin, Leisure Learning program Director, “They are easy to work with, communicative and willing to help our program in any way."
Looking to get involved? Leisure Learning always seeks opportunities to expand class offerings and welcomes ideas for new classes and locations. Whether you’re a local business interested in partnering with us or ready to discover something new, there is a place for you in our lifelong learning community, thanks in part to our volunteers and community partners.
