Biography
Emily McMillon is the supervisor for both the UWF Archaeology Lab and Conservation Lab. She has a decade of lab experience and has completed five different field schools at levels ranging from student to field director and with areas of focus ranging from terrestrial archaeology, maritime archaeology, and conservation. Her interests include artifact mending, colonial archaeology, and maritime archaeology. She graduated with both her bachelor's and master's degree in archaeology from the University of West Florida. Her thesis, "Of Rodents, Roots, and Men: Evaluating the Effects of Pedoturbation on Artifacts at the Tristán de Luna Settlement Site" focused on mending ceramic sherds in order to show how artifacts can shift under the ground surface due to various biological, environmental, and anthropological forces.
