ADA Requirements

The University of West Florida is committed to providing a welcoming, accessible and supportive environment for people with disabilities. Meetings, activities or events sponsored by the University are expected to be accessible to individuals with disabilities.


All UWF event marketing materials such as posters, event websites and email blasts inviting the public and/or students to a UWF event should include one of the below approved Americans with Disabilities Act statements. ADA statements are not required for materials that are physically at the event.

Official Statement

Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations is requested to advise UWF by contacting Human Resources at 850.474.2694 or 850.857.6158 (TTY) at least two business days prior to the event. For more information or to submit a request, visit the Public Event Accommodations page or email ada@uwf.edu.

Secondary Statement (only utilized when there is very limited space)

For ADA Accommodations, please advise UWF at 850.474.2694 or 850.857.6158 (TTY), or visit uwf.edu/ADAforEvents.

Personal invitations that are sent for UWF events need to include one of the following:

  1. The UWF event sponsor’s contact information for guiding guests through the ADA request process. If the invitation includes a URL for the event, the URL should house one of the ADA statements above.
  2. The official or secondary statement for ADA accommodations listed above.
