Biography
Dr. Byron Havard is a Professor in the School of Education where he teaches courses in the Instructional Design and Technology undergraduate, masters, specialist, and doctoral specialization programs. His academic preparation includes a B.S. in Industrial Design from Auburn University, a M.S. in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Georgia State University. He has nine years of corporate experience in instructional design and technology integration with AT&T, IBM, and Mitsubishi Electric. Prior to joining UWF he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Instructional Systems and Workforce Development at Mississippi State University for three years. His research interests include online collaboration and communication media, instructional strategies for emerging technologies, and social and cultural dimensions in instructional technology.
Degrees & Institutions
Havard received his bachelor's degree in Architecture/Industrial Design from Auburn University. He went on to earn his master's degree in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama, and his doctorate degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia State University.
