What do you enjoy most about working with students?
I love being a part of the learning process. It is incredibly fulfilling to watch students develop their skills and hit the milestones they've worked so hard for; seeing that success firsthand is what drives me.
What is one surprising thing about you that not many people know?
I started my first job in the fifth grade and haven't stopped since. I've proudly dedicated my entire professional career - over 35 years - to supporting students in higher education.
What are your favorite activities outside of work?
Outside of work, I'm usually outdoors with my horses or trail riding. When I'm staying in, I love snuggling with my two cats and hanging out with my husband. I also look forward to every family visit, and my favorite way to unwind is by diving into a good British crime show.
What advice would you give to new students?
College is a marathon, not a sprint. Focus on finding a balance between your studies and self-care. Give yourself permission to explore new interests, but stay disciplined with your time- your future self will thank you!
What is your favorite quote?
Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
