Licensed Mental Health Counselor (60 semester hours)
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor option is a 60-hour program with requirements comparable to those established by the Florida state board for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor. Upon graduation from the licensure option, the individual should be in a position to qualify to register with the Florida state licensing board as an intern and to obtain the two year post-degree supervised experience required by the board for licensure. Students must complete the core departmental requirements, as well as focused theoretical and applied counseling concentration courses and 1000 hours of practicum and internship field placement.
