We have an active faculty conducting a wide range of both basic and applied research. Their current research interests include topics such as: Autobiographical Memory, Successful Aging, Problems of High Risk Adolescents, Buddhism and Western Psychology, Stereotype Accuracy, Brain Activity During Learning, and Biofeedback & Stress.
Students are consistently involved in faculty research and encouraged to pursue their own research interests. Their work is frequently presented at national and regional conferences and in many cases their work results in publications in refereed journals.
We have a low student to faculty ratio, approximately 3 students for each advisor. This allows individual students and faculty to form mentoring teams and personal relationships.
The General Psychology program has a proven track record of preparing students for Ph.D level education in Psychology. Our graduates are admitted to prestigious doctoral programs and are better prepared for doctoral coursework than are many students who entered doctoral programs without a Master's degree. General track students have a great deal of flexibility over their course of study. We can tailor the program to fit your personal interests and career goals.
