Graduate Programs
The Master's program in Psychology is designed to provide a thorough foundation in psychological theories and research, as well as opportunities for applied work for those who plan to enter the job market after completing the Master’s degree. Students who plan to enter doctoral programs will find that we also provide excellent preparation through research experience and opportunities to present and publish their work.
Our department is an active member of the Council for Applied Master’s Program’s in Psychology (CAMPP) and meets the standards of quality set by that organization. Also, the Counseling and Industrial-Organizational tracks have been accredited by the Master's in Psychology Accreditation Council (MPAC) which is the only organization that accredits applied master's programs in Psychology. The MPAC accreditation standards address issues such as faculty credentials, program resources, curriculum, and university organizations.

The University of West Florida's Psychology Master’s Program is divided into three tracks:
Graduate Certificates
Our Master’s graduates have found employment in mental health agencies; in private practice after becoming Licensed Mental Health Counselors; in research settings in the military, business, or public sector; in private industry or the public sector working in human resources, training or organization development; and in consulting firms. Some of our recent graduates have entered doctoral programs in schools such as Colorado State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Emory, Louisiana State, Georgia Tech, the University of Central Florida, Georgia State and Kansas State University.
