B.A., University of West Florida

My experience as an academic peer counselor in the Psychology department at UWF has been very rewarding both personally and professionally. It has afforded me many opportunities that I will benefit from in the future. For example, I have been able to not only get to know many students but to truly help them accomplish their academic goals. I’ve helped students with anything from understanding requirements and how they influence their graduation date to giving advice on how to handle difficult academic situations. I’ve also had the opportunity to interact with the faculty and department chair on a daily basis as well as during various functions resulting in great fellowship and networking time. The office staff and other graduate assistants in the department have always been helpful while keeping a fun and light hearted atmosphere. The APC position is a benefit of the department that I would recommend to any graduate student.
