Generic Program
The Nursing Department admits 50 students once a year for the Bachelor of Nursing 4-year degree.
The applications for admission into the nursing program beginning August 2013
will be accepted December 1, 2012 through March 1, 2013 and will be available during that period.
4-Year BSN Program Requirements/Recommendations:
- Overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (for both common prerequisites and overall GPA)
- Minimum score of 73% on the TEAS V (no other version will be accepted) entrance exam (may be taken up to 3 times in any application period; highest score will prevail)
- Completion of all general education requirements including foreign language (see UWF catalog or contact UWF Admissions)
- Completion of all common prerequisites (see uwf.edu/catalog )
- Completion of minimum 62 sh prior to admission to nursing program
- Strongly recommended electives: HSC 3555 Pathophysiology; HSC 3534 Medical Terminology; PSY 2012 Psychology, CHM 2205/L Fundamentals of Organic/Biochemistry/Lab
- Strongly recommended: documentation (with nursing application) for any work or volunteer experience (minimum 60 hrs) in previous 12 months from application deadline date of March 1st. Greater weight given if in a healthcare setting. Must be on letterhead from company, agency, etc., dated and signed specifying number of hours and period of time
