Tom Savage was born and raised in Salisbury, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Salisbury State University in 1988. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Music Performance from Pensacola Christian College.
Tom is an active member of the International Trumpet Guild, Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Orchestra Association, Florida Music Teachers Association and The National Association for Music Education. He also performs regularly with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and the Northwest Florida Symphony in Okaloosa County, Florida.
Mr. Savage was a former Band Director/Music Teacher for over 14 years in Maryland and Florida teaching General Music, Elementary, Middle School and High School Band. In the summers of 2005 and 2006 respectively, he directed the Florida Baptist All- State Student Orchestras/Choirs that toured throughout the Southeastern and Southwestern United States. In 2007, he conducted the OBC Handbell Choir and traveled to Kazakhstan, Central Asia, as well as traveled with a small jazz combo to the Dominican Republic in 2009.
Since 2003, Tom serves on the staff of Olive Baptist Church here in Pensacola as the Director of Instrumental Music Ministries and the School of Performing Arts. At Olive, he conducts the Celebration Orchestra, the Ma-jazz-tics Big Band, and many small instrumental ensembles throughout the year. He also serves as the Administrator for the OBC School of Performing Arts and teaches private music lessons.
