Mollye Barrows

Biography

Mollye is an award-winning investigative journalist, author, television news contributor and podcaster. She currently reports on government accountability for the Pensacola News Journal and produces and hosts "Gulf Coast Confidential," a true crime podcast featuring headline-making crimes and scandals along Northwest Florida and other Gulf Coast communities. 

During her career, she produced and anchored "The World According to Jesse," a weekly news and opinion program on the former Russian news outlet, RT America, which featured former Governor of Minnesota, actor, and commentator, Jesse Ventura, and contributed to other RT news programs.

Mollye’s talent for storytelling and expertise with criminal cases has also led to several invitations to appear on national news and crime documentaries featured on CNN, Oxygen Channel, Dateline, ABC and BBC. 

She began her career at WEAR-TV 3, an ABC affiliate in Pensacola, where she anchored and launched multiple newscasts. While at WEAR, she also covered wrote the true crime book, “A Perversion of Justice,” a Pensacola case about two young brothers who beat their father to death with a baseball bat. 

Mollye is drawn to stories that give victims and others who feel unseen, a voice, especially victims of crime. In 2005, she won a Best Investigative award from Florida AP Broadcasters for "Secrets in the Schoolhouse," a series of reports exposing sexual and physical abuse at some private, faith-based boarding schools that specialized in "behavior modification." 

In addition to reporting, she also hosts and produces special political programs for the public television station, WSRE TV, as well as other local media outlets.
