Biography

Ann Burkhardt has over three decades of experience leading diverse teams, solving complex challenges and improving organizational effectiveness. A certified change practitioner and senior professional in human resources with expertise in the areas of consulting, project management, change management and human resources.

Admiral Burkhardt was commissioned under the Nuclear Power Instructor Program and began her military career as an instructor, teaching math, reactor principles and physics, earning designation as a master training specialist at Naval Nuclear Power School, Orlando. 

Over her 33-year military career, her assignments were in positions of ever-increasing leadership, scope, and responsibility. Burkhardt finished her military career as the director, Department of Defense Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office, leading policy and oversight efforts, with a focus on prevention. She also served as the acting deputy director for the Office of Force Resiliency, reporting to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness and was responsible for integrated policies, programs and oversight to strengthen the resiliency and readiness of the total force.  

Following her retirement, Burkhardt joined Dynamic Integrated Services, a verified service-disabled veteran-owned small business government consultancy. At DIS, she leverages her background and executive-level expertise for the benefit of the clients she serves, most recently supporting the Veteran Benefits Administration, Loan Guaranty Service. 

Ann and her husband, Michael, have five children and one grandchild. They enjoy hiking, boating, traveling and spending time with their family.
