Studies and experts agree: a master's degree for a health professional is a valuable investment. Many health care careers require a master's level of education or higher, while those that don't offer considerably higher compensation and a greater number of leadership opportunities for holders of a master's degree.
Investing in your education is investing in your future. Get started today and improve your tomorrow!
Express admission is a fast-tracked process for qualified UWF undergraduates or recent alumni, allowing them to bypass certain standard application steps, such as test score submissions, and in some cases, bypass some or all departmental admissions requirements for specific programs. It also offers a quicker decision timeline and waives the application fee.
Regular admission follows the standard process, requiring a complete application along with the application fee and all necessary documentation (e.g., transcripts, letters of recommendation, test scores, etc.).
To check your eligibility for express admission to a UKCOH graduate program, you can either contact the department or complete this form, and the Graduate Admissions Coordinator will follow up with you.
For detailed information on the express admission requirements, please refer to the section titled "Explore Eligible Programs" above. If you have further questions, feel free to contact Anika Moore.
Students interested in express admission must first meet with the Graduate Admissions Coordinator, Anika Moore, or the Department Chair of their desired program. After determining eligibility, the Department Chair will either approve or deny the admission request. If approved, the Graduate Admissions Coordinator will initiate the express admission application. Once the application is submitted, the student will receive an email to confirm their express admission offer. Upon confirmation, the application will be reviewed and approved by the department and the UKCOH Dean’s office, then processed by the Graduate School. After processing, the student will be notified, and their advisor will contact them to schedule an advising appointment once registration opens.
An applicant is eligible to be express admitted to and begin a graduate program for up to four semesters after graduating from UWF.
To view the admission deadlines, please visit the Application Deadlines webpage.
Applicants who wish to cancel an application that we are processing must submit a cancellation request form through the application portal.
Applicants are only able to term change an application once before having to submit a new application. If an applicant wishes to move their original application to a new start term within 3 semesters, they must submit a term change form. You can also find the term change form on the Application Portal. Select the Term Change button on the screen's right side and complete the form. If the program is available for the preferred term, Graduate Admissions will cancel the previous application and create an application for the new term within 3-5 business days.
Students in a program with multiple specializations may change specializations by submitting a Graduate Major Track Change form. Students wishing to change departments entirely must submit a new graduate admission application, pay another application processing fee, and reprove Florida residency, if claiming it.
Graduate students must be admitted and registered in order to submit a major track change or doctoral change of specialization form.
Students who have not enrolled for more than three semesters but fewer than five years must submit a Graduate Readmission Application if they wish to re-enroll in their same graduate program. Doctoral candidates are not eligible for readmission and must submit a regular application.
Students who have not enrolled for more than five years must submit a new graduate application, application processing fee, and transcripts if they attended another institution during non-enrollment at UWF. These students should also check with the department to see if they need to resubmit department materials.
Students who want to enroll in a different program must submit a new graduate admission application.
Congratulations on your admission! Your academic advisor will be notified and will reach out to you to schedule an advising appointment. Please keep an eye out for their email.
