With a rich background in Respiratory Care and a commitment to advancing the field, Amanda’s professional journey has been marked by diverse experiences that have shaped her expertise. Amanda has  served as a Clinical Associate Professor & Program Director in the Master of Science in Respiratory Care program at Jacksonville University. Her dedication to Respiratory Therapy began as a bedside Respiratory Therapist at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and evolved through roles as a Clinical Assistant Professor & Program Director at the University of North Carolina and as a Clinical Educator for a Respiratory Simulation Specialist Company in Pennsylvania.

Amanda’s career has been characterized by a passion for education, research, and global health initiatives. She had the privilege of traveling nationwide and internationally, teaching clinicians, educators, and researchers how to incorporate high-fidelity medical simulators into their teaching concepts and healthcare processes. Amanda’s interest in Respiratory Therapy was sparked during medical mission work in Central America, where she witnessed the profound impact of basic healthcare interventions on underserved populations.

In Amanda’s current role as the Director of Respiratory Therapy at UWF, she is excited  to lead and teach in this  newly established Bachelor’s program. Beyond the classroom, Amanda is actively engaged in Respiratory Therapy-related research and advisory roles for global health service projects. In the ever-evolving landscape of Respiratory Care, UWF has taken a proactive approach by launching a specialized bachelor’s degree program. As the Program Director, Amanda will collaborate with UWF administration, faculty, and staff to develop a nationally recognized educational program. This involves designing and teaching a respiratory-related curriculum, presenting at state/national conferences, and contributing to community, university, and department-led committees.
