TeacherReady alumni are eligible for credit hours toward the M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, the M.A. Exceptional Student Education, or the M.Ed. in Education Leadership at the University of West Florida (UWF).

Whether you are seeking a degree that fits into your demanding schedule or are currently working as a teacher looking to enhance your skills, the University of West Florida’s online master’s program allows you to further your education at your own pace. Through these three master’s degree options, you can discover how to become one of tomorrow’s leaders in education in a personalized environment.

  • Completers of TeacherReady are eligible to receive:
  • Students must begin the master’s degree program within five years of completing TeacherReady in order to be eligible to receive any credits by proficiency.
  • After receiving credit for completion of TeacherReady, the remaining coursework required for the UWF master’s degree program may be completed in four to five semesters if the individual attends full-time (two courses per semester).
  • The credits by proficiency will not be applied to the student’s record until the semester of graduation.

Master of Arts in Exceptional Student Education

The M.A. in Exceptional Student Education at UWF produces teachers, administrators, related professionals, and specialists in many areas of exceptional student education. The cohorts begin each semester, so you can earn your degree quickly and pursue advancement in your field. One-on-one advising, a comprehensive curriculum, and certified quality education from this program will provide you with the experience you need to succeed.

Note: TeacherReady completers are eligible for credits only for proficiency in the specialization in Special & Alternative Education, not in the Applied Behavior Analysis program.

Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction

Gain a deeper understanding of education and prepare for an instructional or leadership role with the University of West Florida’s online M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction. Expand your skills further with the ability to specialize in either elementary, middle school or secondary school education.

Master of Education in Educational Leadership

UWF’s Educational Leadership Certification M.Ed. program is designed for experienced teachers who want to prepare for administrative and supervisory positions, such as principal, assistant principal, district supervisor, in-service director, curriculum developer, or dean in public and private elementary and secondary schools. The degree emphasizes the eight Florida Principal Leadership Standards and their associated competencies, and prepares students for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam (FELE). Applicants must have two years of professional teaching experience to be eligible for acceptance into the program.
