UWF has been recognized as a gold-level University in the large public school category on the list of Military Friendly Schools.
The University of West Florida (UWF) is excited to have a center dedicated to supporting our military and veteran students.
To speak with a representative at the MVRC for answers to general questions: Hours available are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
To speak with the VA Representative on campus for assistance: Hours available 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Start With the FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in the financial aid process. UWF's FAFSA code is 003955.
All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA annually by their priority Deadlines in order to maximize consideration for financial aid. Even if you do not anticipate using financial aid, keep in mind that several grants and scholarships require the results of the FAFSA to determine eligibility.
Whether you want to apply your GI Bill benefits to college classes or an on-the-job training program, the GI Bill Comparison Tool will help you make the most of them.
The UWF Military & Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) serves as a leading campus advocate for military, dependents and veteran students, working to ensure the needs of these individuals are met through coordinating with multiple university offices and services. The center provides assistance with the following:
- VA education benefits
- Active duty tuition assistance
- Out of state fee waiver
- Coordinating academic advising
- Disability accommodations
- Referral to state and federal resources and services
The University of West Florida is appreciative of the sacrifices made by our currently serving active duty students and is also grateful to the many veterans who have served in the past. Thank you!
