What You Will Learn

With this online program, you will meet the curriculum requirements to apply for the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and the Qualified Autism Services Provider Supervisor (QASP-S) certification exams, making it possible to earn a credential after graduation and pursue a fulfilling career.

Courses

The University of West Florida Applied Behavior Analysis program has been verified by the Association for Behavior Analysis International as meeting specific coursework requirements, content hours, and faculty standards and is a pre-approved coursework provider by the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA®), an internationally-accredited credentialing agency dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of care among professionals providing applied behavioral analysis (ABA) services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.

Courses & Requirements

UWF’s online health sciences degree includes a total of 120 credit hours. Through the major’s 60 credit hours, you will build a strong foundation in health sciences and behavior analysis. Included in the major are 15 credit hours of your choice of approved elective classes.

General Education (60 credit hours)

In addition to the general education requirements, students must satisfy all additional State of Florida requirements, including the college-level communication and computation, civic literacy and foreign language requirement. With appropriate planning and coordination with an academic advisor, students may satisfy some of the general University requirements through the general education curriculum.

Common Prerequisites (10 credit hours)

State-mandated common prerequisites must be completed prior to graduation, but are not required for admission to the program. See the Common Prerequisite Manual for course substitutions from Florida colleges and universities.

How to Apply

To apply for admission to this program, you first need to submit an application for undergraduate admission (plus a $30 application fee) and be accepted for admission into University of West Florida. In addition, you must:

Submit official transcripts from all institutions previously attended whose accrediting agency is included on the list of UWF approved accrediting agencies
Submit ACT or SAT scores
Complete the residency application form for tuition purposes

Tuition waivers cover up to 75% of the non-resident portion of your tuition and are available to non-Florida residents (including international students) admitted to online campus programs and registered for online courses in active pursuit of that degree or certificate. You must pay all other assessed tuition and fees. The renewal of Online Campus Out-of-State Tuition Waivers is not automatic.
