Savvy marketing professionals who can think strategically, create relevance and deliver measurable results are in high demand in today's workforce. A marketing degree from UWF can help you make your mark in this demanding field.

Why Study Marketing at UWF?

A BSBA in Marketing prepares you for a career in business or marketing. Historically, a large portion of top-level managers in major corporations are promoted from the marketing area.

You will receive a strong grounding in business and the major areas of marketing, which will give you flexibility to pursue jobs in either creative or quantitative disciplines.

The Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, known as AACSB International, something fewer than 4.7% of business schools worldwide can say.

What You Will Learn

You will start your studies with a foundation of core business courses on topics such as e-business fundamentals, managerial finance, international business and business ethics.

Then you will choose one of three specializations — comprehensive marketing, global marketing or sales management — working closely with an advisor to customize the curriculum to meet your career goals.

Several courses feature industry clients with real issues and deadlines that can lead to internship and career opportunities.

Our student chapter of the American Marketing Association provides networking opportunities and skill development. The chapter created the U Choose Awards, which measure the brand equity of businesses and organizations in the Pensacola area, based on surveys of UWF students.

A minor in marketing will provide you with a broad introduction to marketing, accounting and economics. Available for non-business majors, a minor in marketing applications provides you with the professional marketing skills and knowledge necessary for positions in business.

UWF programs offered at the Pensacola campus or UWF Emerald Coast may require online courses. Discuss the program requirements and planning with your academic advisor.

Specializations

You will focus on issues of marketing in an increasingly global business environment. One of the highlights of this specialization is a semester abroad at a UWF partner university studying international marketing.

Global Marketing Courses

This specialization prepares you for a broad range of positions in marketing and marketing management. It offers a great deal of flexibility in the types of electives you take, allowing you to sample several different career fields in marketing.

Comprehensive Marketing Courses

This specialization focuses on issues involved in negotiation, professional selling and sales management. It emphasizes building customer relationships, managing sales staff and analyzing marketplace opportunities.
