Why Study Finance at UWF?
The UWF BSBA in Finance offers two different specializations to prepare students for the competitive field of finance: Financial Management and Financial Planning.
The Financial Management specialization prepares students for professional careers in banking and other financial, health care, and corporate settings. The program provides the foundation to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
The Financial Planning specialization leads to careers in financial planning, and it covers curriculum needed for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
What You Will Learn
As part of the foundation in finance education, you will learn to identify and analyze key elements that comprise finance problems/opportunities; select and apply appropriate frameworks for solving problems; integrate the functional areas that comprise finance; develop effective written presentations; and recognize legal and ethical issues that occur in business.
Finance students will gain a broad business background with exposure to areas such as accounting, management, marketing, data analytics, and business ethics. You will also take courses focusing on the areas of investments, corporate finance, and financial institutions that will provide the knowledge needed to succeed in a wide variety of finance careers.
A minor in finance will provide you with a broad introduction to all functional areas of finance.
UWF offers classes through various delivery methods, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Though UWF makes every effort to provide on-campus classes in face-to-face programs, there is a possibility that some classes will have limited availability and may be offered online only.
