Internships
An internship is a professional entry-level employment position that is related to a student's academic major and career interests. The purpose of the internship is to provide students with a unique opportunity to gain "real world" experience in business fields while pursuing their studies. Students will have the opportunity to apply concepts and theories learned in the classroom to practical situations and problems under the supervision and guidance of a practicing professional.
Information about the internship program can be found on the Career Services web site. Current students will access Handshake via MyUWF and will have an account already created for them.
Since the internship is basically a "practicum," it is given a final grade of either S (Satisfactory) or U (Unsatisfactory). Typically, U counts as 0.0 grade points, and an S has no impact on the calculation of the GPA.
General Requirements
- Must be enrolled at UWF for the duration of the internship
- Must be a senior
- Complete additional requirements outlined by the Department
