The University of West Florida and the College of Business honor and recognize Don Whitman for his dedicated service to the University. Through his work, he paved the way for future generations to become leaders in their communities and for future faculty members to succeed in their research and practice. The Donald L. Whitman Center for Public Service was named in his honor and served as a vital resource for students in the Public Administration field on the University of West Florida campus. The Donald L. Whitman Fellow and Scholar Program at UWF recognizes and supports one faculty member and one graduate student per year in the field of Public Administration to ensure that leaders in the field are well-equipped and ready to lead on campus and in municipalities across the nation. His legacy will continue to mold future public servants and make an invaluable impact in our local communities.
