Biography
Dr.Tim McIlveene is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Management) from the University of South Alabama, as well as an MBA and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Louisiana Monroe.
Before entering academia, Dr. McIlveene held senior leadership roles within Fortune 500 organizations, including serving as Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer, working in investor relations, and directing sales enablement for cloud and advanced technology initiatives. His professional experience spans analytics, human resources, change management, and public policy. Earlier in his career, he served as a speechwriter and legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives and worked in Asia with a nonprofit organization focused on humanitarian relief and expanding educational access for women and girls.
Dr. McIlveene’s research focuses on institutional trust, organizational legitimacy, leadership dynamics, and the ethical governance of artificial intelligence. His work has appeared in outlets such as California Management Review Insights, European Journal of Management Studies, and the Journal of Applied Business and Economics. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Small Business Strategy.
Across his research and teaching, Dr. McIlveene is committed to bridging theory and practice—bringing real-world leadership experience into the classroom while producing scholarship that offers actionable insight for organizations navigating strategy, technology, and trust in an evolving business landscape.
