Biography
Dr. June (Jun) Wei has a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and conducts research on numerous topics.
A Professor in the Department of Business Administration, Wei has examined various aspects of mobile communication, inflation in China, electronic solutions for pharmacies, and reasons why drivers change direction.
Her research covers information security and human behavior on Internet commerce, enterprise information systems development, and human information processing for cognitive task analysis.
She has more than 100 publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. The journals include Electronic Commerce Research, Industrial Management and Data Systems, Behavior and Information Technology, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Database Management, Electronic Markets: The International Journal on Networked Business, and Theoretical Issues in Ergonomic Science.
One focus has been on e-business, a rapidly growing part of the global economy. Topics included “Electronic Business in the Home Medical Equipment Industry” and “Online Promotion and Marketing of Mobile Communications Devices.”
The College of Business honored Wei in 2016 by naming her a winner of one of its four Dyson Awards for Excellence in Service.
Wei works closely with students, helping them conduct research and develop material to receive funding and/or be published in leading journals.
Wei, who joined UWF in 2003, is Senior Editor of the International Journal of Mobile Communications, and Editor in Chief of the Electronic Government: An International Journal, and theInternational Journal of Electronic Finance, and an Associate Editor of the International Journal of E-Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Journal of Information Privacy and Security.
She was a software engineer in Marconi Communications in Dallas for more than five years and worked in Quality Control for Bausch & Lomb Company in Atlanta. She also has extensive working experience with enterprise information systems development.
