Biography
Christina Kilpatrick is a Visiting Instructor in the Biology Department. She brings a unique perspective to the biology department, having graduated from UWF with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (2021) and a Master’s degree in Biology (2023). She understands where students come from and wants to create a respectful and engaging classroom environment. She has conducted research at UWF and continues to work in the Guttmann lab on the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers. Kilpatrick has taught numerous courses, including Biology 1 lab, Introduction to Human Anatomy Lab, and Pharmacology.

Research
Kilpatrick's research focuses on early biomarker detection of Alzheimer's disease utilizing post translational modifications of the tau protein. She specifically focuses on the SUMOylation and glycosylation of the tau protein.
