"When searching for a university, it was important for me to be able to manage school, work and family. The IDT program at UWF offered me flexibility for my busy schedule and the knowledge I needed to advance my 10-year career in Human Resources. Most of my classmates were, like me, already in the workforce, which made me feel like I belonged."
Melanie Baino, HR professional and Instructional Design and Technology student
"Changing my major from education to IDT was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve attended three different colleges, and of those, I have had the best connections with my professors and advisors here at UWF than anywhere else. I feel like I finally got a grasp on what I wanted to do with my life."
Rebecca Walsh, Instructional Design and Technology student
"The field fit everything I was wanting out of a major without boxing me into one specific area. I have learned how to help organizations identify and overcome challenges, how to help trainees develop efficiently, and finally how to bolster overall performance within individuals and organizations as a whole."
Joshua Anderson, IDT student, father, husband and active military
"The IDT program at UWF is the only program like it in the state and surrounding area. It was created to meet the growing forecasted demand for jobs in training and development, not only in Florida but throughout the United States. Personally, I want everyone in the program to succeed and will meet with any student as much as needed beyond the coursework to assist in mastering the knowledge, skills and abilities required to be successful in an IDT career."
Dr. Byron Havard, Professor, Instructional Design and Technology
"I meet with students one-on-one to develop a relationship and get to know them and their goals. Making the student experience personal for each individual and helping them tailor their program to their needs is just one of the ways the IDT curriculum prepares the student to be able to enter the workforce right after graduation and be successful in their job."
