UWF breaks ground on Darrell Gooden Stadium

The University of West Florida reached a historic milestone on Feb. 11, 2026, officially breaking ground on the Darrell Gooden Stadium, a multi-use football and events facility that represents UWF’s growth and a significant investment in the community.

The University of West Florida Dr. Grier Williams School of Music will present the Kamerman Piano Series at UWF featuring guest performer Albert Cano Smit. The performance will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. in the Rolfs Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the UWF Pensacola campus.

UWF awarded $2 million NSF grant to support STEM students

The University of West Florida has received a $2 million, six-year National Science Foundation S-STEM Track 2: Implementation grant to support academically talented, financially disadvantaged students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The award will provide scholarships to 38 Pell-eligible STEM students while embedding expanded mental health resources within the existing STEM Living Learning Community.
