Richard Fountain

Welcome to the Fall 2020 semester, Business Argos.

We are so glad that you are here. Whether taking classes in-person or online, we have worked diligently to overcome the challenges presented by COVID-19 to deliver the unparalleled quality of education that you expect from the UWF College of Business.

If you are attending class in-person, the classrooms will look different. We have created socially distanced spaces and implemented protocols to keep each of you safe. Your classes may also be in new locations. While the physical environment may have changed, our commitment to you is unwavering. College of Business faculty members have risen to the challenge, finding the best ways to share the tools for you to thrive in the business world.

You can still reach key services but in new ways. Advisors are working remotely this semester, providing the same level of care and detailed service you expect. You can schedule a virtual appointment through Navigate in MyUWF (

Offices are still operating. You can reach out to your academic department:

Networking and educational opportunities will still be available, albeit virtually. Juniors, seniors, and graduate students still have time to join the Executive Mentor Program for the 2020-2021 academic year. In addition, the Executive Mentor Program is hosting a virtual event with author Michael Ryan, who will share practical tips to career success in an ever-changing world on October 1, 2020. This event is open to all students and the community. Visit the Executive Mentor Program site for registration.

Together, we are also learning how this pandemic is affecting our industries. This summer, we sat down with experts from healthcare, supply chain logistics, hospitality, collegiate sports, and even football coaches. We wanted to learn how professionals were reacting to the COVID-19 pandemic, and what we could learn from their experiences. Please watch the discussions on UWFCOB’s Facebook page and be sure to tune in to new discussions throughout the semester. We will let you know when they are scheduled.

Above all, please stay safe. The university has developed a website for the most up-to-date COVID-19 resources and protocols. Visit to learn best practices and guidelines outlined by the university.

While our college may be working a little differently this semester, we are still here to provide an enriching educational environment for you. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at

Sending my best to you and your families, and wishing for all of you to stay safe and take care.

Dr. Richard M. Fountain

Our students’ successes are due in large part to student-oriented education experiences, our small class sizes, and opportunities for interaction and mentorship by our dedicated College of Business faculty.
