Amanda Taylor

Biography

Amanda is a dedicated cybersecurity student, researcher, and STEM educator with a passion for both technical innovation and education. Since 2021, she has been involved with UWF Camps, which are founded and run by the Department of Continuing Education, starting as a high school volunteer and advancing to a program assistant. She has worked with 1st to 12th grade students, assisting in curriculum execution, building, and program management across various camps, including those focused on Lego Robotics, Code Crushers, and HMCSE Department programs. In her collegiate career, her research has shifted to the intersection of cybersecurity, law, and ethics.

She co-authored an interdisciplinary paper on the legal implications of user consent in website terms and conditions on privacy rights and is currently developing a thesis proposal titled “Coding in the Age of AI: Ethical Issues and Effective Pedagogy for the Next Generation of Developers.” From 2019 to 2021, Amanda also competed in CyberPatriots, gaining hands-on experience in cybersecurity competitions.

Amanda expects to conclude her studies and earn her Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, a CAE-CD certified degree program, in the Spring of 2026
