Biography
Dr. Kwame’s teaching and research center on environmental justice, sustainability, science communication, and belonging. His work engages Gulf Coast communities from Pensacola to Port St. Joe, and he was recognized for his work by the Gulf Research Program with an Early Career Research Fellowship in 2019–2021. Dr. Kwame developed UWF’s Peace Corps Prep program in 2021, and is a co-PI on UWF’s NSF Noyce Teacher Preparation Scholarship grant which aims to integrate citizen science and social justice into STEM education. He teaches courses open to all majors, emphasizing the connections between science, society, and the environment, and also leads an Honors Core course on systems thinking and interdisciplinary research.
