Other Scholarships

Other scholarships available for active duty, veterans and their dependents.


AFCEA International and its chapters and corporate partners offer a variety of scholarships, including War Veterans Scholarships for undergraduates.

Allied's Military Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Operational Management Scholarship is for qualifying current or former active duty military and their dependents majoring in logistics/supply chain management.

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship is a need-based scholarship for surviving children of post-9/11 service members who either died on active duty or have a combined VA disability rating of 50% or greater.

The American Legion's scholarships provide financial assistance to high school students with exceptional academic and leadership qualities, including those participating in youth programs or connected to military service.

The A-1 Auto Transport Annual Scholarship is for students with a 3.00+ attending a truck driving school or other logistics program.

AMVETS offers need-based scholarships for U.S. military veterans / active military, as well as military spouses, children and grandchildren.

The Blinded Veterans Association's Sue Cantrell Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship program for spouses, dependent children and grandchildren of verified BVA members.

The Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation offers various scholarship and family resources.

CCME offers scholarship opportunities to active duty and veteran U.S. service members and their spouses and children.

The Feldman Law Firm Disabled Veterans Scholarship is for disabled veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who have a disability rating of at least 30 percent.

The First Command Educational Foundation (FCEF) offers various scholarship opportunities for active or veteran military service members and their families. 

Fisher House offers scholarship opportunities for dependent children. Requirements include a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA for high school applicants and 2.50 GPA for college applicants.

  • Scholarships for Military Children for dependent children of active duty, Reserve/Guard, deceased, or retired U.S. service members. 
  • Heroes' Legacy Scholarship for dependent children of service members who died or became seriously injured in the line of duty since 9/11 (qualifying for Traumatic Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) benefits or a 100% permanent and total disability compensation rating). 

The Florida Engineering Society offers several engineering-focused scholarship opportunities.

The Florida Student Assistance Grant is a need-based grant program available to degree-seeking, Florida resident, undergraduate students who have not already earned a bachelor’s degree. A new FAFSA must be completed each academic year in order to determine eligibility for an FSAG award. Awards are available to a limited number of students. Amounts can change yearly (fall and spring) and are dependent on being enrolled at least half-time (6 undergraduate hours).

The Folded Flag Foundation offers scholarship opportunities for qualifying spouses or children (under the age of 26) of:

  • A member of the U.S. military who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.
  • An employee of the U.S. government who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.

Folds of Honor offers scholarships for dependent children and spouses of fallen or disabled U.S. service members or first responders.

The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund is for the dependent children of U.S. service members who have been killed or deemed 100% totally and permanently disabled from a combat mission or training accident. Requirements include working toward a first undergraduate degree.

The Harold & Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation's scholarship opportunities include:

  • Veteran Scholarship for qualifying U.S. veterans of any major who are attending a university accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Foundation seeks to award scholarships to U.S. veterans and especially seeks students holding a Combat Infantrymen’s Badge, suffered a serious injury due to combat action (such as a missing limb), received a Purple Heart, served or continue to serve with honor and distinction, or were honorably discharged from military service.
  • Brigadier General Albin F. Irzyk Veteran Scholarship, awarded to an outstanding Veteran Scholarship applicant.
  • Marketing Scholarship for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing at an AACSB-accredited university.

The Hill & Ponton Veterans Helping Veterans Scholarships are for veterans of the armed forces who plan to use their education to help fellow veterans.

Hope for the Warriors offers five distinct scholarship opportunities for post-9/11 military spouses and caregivers.

The Imagine America Military Award Program offers funding opportunities for active duty, reserve, honorably discharged or retired U.S. veterans.

The National Military Family Association's Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarship is for military spouses pursuing a degree, professional license, supervised clinical hours, continuing education courses and other educational goals. 

Leave No Veteran Behind offers a Retroactive Scholarship Program to assist qualified veterans in need with their student debt. 

The Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation's Family of a Fallen Hero Scholarship is open to an individual who has lost a family member who served in our the U.S. Armed Forces. The foundation also offers a Pursue Your Passion Scholarship.

The Purple Heart Scholarship Program is offers competitive scholarship opportunities for Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children and grandchildren.

The MOAA Scholarship Fund provides interest free loans, scholarships and grants to qualifying dependents of military families. 

NAIMES offers scholarship opportunities for active duty and veterans of the U.S. military, as well as active duty spouses, who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.

No Greater Sacrifice offers scholarship opportunities to children of service members who have fallen or suffered from a wound, illness or injury in the line of duty in the post-9/11 conflicts.

The NorthAmerican.com Military Scholarship Competition offers a military logistics/supply chain management/operational management scholarship opportunity for qualifying current or former active duty military and their dependents.

The Paralyzed Veterans of America Scholarship is for a PVA member, spouse or dependent, unmarried child. An applicant must be a U.S. citizen and be admitted or enrolled at least part-time at an accredited U.S. college or university.

The Tillman Scholar program is for qualifying veteran or active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses, including surviving spouses. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's, graduate or professional degree full time at a U.S.-based accredited institution.

The Patriot Legacy Fund offers several need-based scholarships for dependents of U.S. veterans with a VA service-connected disability (10% or higher).

The Pensacola Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (PMOAA) awards scholarships to qualifying children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren and spouses of active duty, honorably discharged veterans, reservists or retired (including deceased retired) U.S. military personnel.

Applicants and/or their military sponsor must be, at the time of application, a resident of the area served by PMOAA (Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties of Florida and South Baldwin County of Alabama). Applicants must have completed their first year of attending an undergraduate accredited college or university as full-time students during the current academic year. Scholarship application requirements include career objectives and an essay.

The Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association's River Rats Scholarship Program is a need-based program for the children, grandchildren and spouses of Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Army aircrew members. Applicants must be an immediate relative of:

  • An RRVA member in good standing listed as Killed in Action (KIA) or Missing in Action (MIA) from any combat situation involving the U.S. military from August 1964 (Vietnam Era) to present;
  • An RRVA member in good standing who was killed as a result of performing aircrew duties during a non-combat mission; or
  • A current or deceased RRVA Life Member or current or deceased Annual Member in good standing prior to March 15, 2022. 

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation's education programs provide substantial education assistance to the surviving children of fallen Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps Special Operations Personnel who lose their lives in combat or training, and to the children of active-duty Special Operators who have lost their spouse while serving. 

Student Veterans of America offers several scholarship opportunities in partnership with SVA partners, including:

  • RTX SPY-6 Scholarship for U.S. Navy student veterans
  • RTX Patriot Scholarship for student veterans demonstrating a commitment to and passion for their chosen field of study, as well as demonstrated leadership and engagement within their community
  • John Edelman Scholarship for students studying degrees toward a career in mental health counseling
  • Northrop Grumman Scholarship for undergraduate student veterans in a STEM major

A Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant requires you to agree to complete a teaching service obligation as a condition for receiving the grant, and if you don't complete the service obligation, the TEACH Grant will be converted to a loan that you must repay, with interest. Students must complete the FAFSA for consideration and meet eligibility requirements.

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship is for qualifying veterans with 100% service-connected disability and for surviving spouses and children of deceased service members whose death was service-related. Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree and meet all scholarship requirements for consideration.

The VFW's Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship is for qualifying U.S. citizens who are active duty, retired or honorably discharged service members, or members of the National Guard or Reserve. Applicants must have completed Basic Training and follow-on training and hold or have separated with a rank of E-5 or below. They must demonstrate financial need and attend or be admitted to a VA-approved program or school at an accredited post-secondary institution.

Air Force

The AAA Scholarship Foundation offers undergraduate and graduate college financial assistance opportunities for current members of AAAA, or the spouse, child, grandchild or unmarried sibling of a qualifying current or deceased AAAA member. 

The Air & Space Forces Association offers various scholarship opportunities for Airmen, Guardians and their families. Scholarships include:

  • Colonel Aaron Burgstein Memorial Scholarship
  • Captain Jodi Callahan Memorial Scholarship
  • Lt. Col. Romeo and Josephine Bass Ferretti Scholarship
  • Mike & Gail Donley Spouse Scholarships
  • Col. Loren J. and Mrs. Lawona R. Spencer Scholarship
  • John C. and Blanche Lee Lindsay Memorial Scholarship
  • Dr. Sydell Perlmutter Gold Memorial Scholarship
  • Destin Flight Works Pilot Training Scholarship
  • The George and Vicki Muellner Foundation Scholarship

The Air Force Aid Society General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant is for U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force family members, including children of active duty and select reserve, retired, retired reserve and deceased members; and spouses of active duty and select reserve and deceased members, for undergraduate studies.

The AFAS Merit & Grit Scholarships are for dependent children of active duty and retired Airmen or Guardians who demonstrate outstanding potential based on GPA, or used GRIT (Growth, Resilience, Integrity and Tenacity) in overcoming a specific challenge in their academic journey.

The Airmen Memorial Foundation offers scholarships for the qualifying children (23 and younger) of enlisted Airmen, as well as the AFSA International Auxiliary Education Grant Program for qualifying AFSA Auxiliary members with financial need.

Army

The Airborne Scholarship Association provides merit-based undergraduate scholarships for the dependent family members of veterans, active duty and Department of the Army civilians from units within the 18th Airborne Corps who served after 9/11, and scholarships for the children of 18th Airborne Corps (non-divisional) soldiers and Fort Liberty soldiers who were killed, wounded or injured while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces supporting the Global War on Terror. 

Army Emergency Relief (AER) offers scholarships including:

  • Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program for Dependent Children
  • Mrs. Patty Shinseki Spouse Scholarship Program

The ANCA scholarship is for qualifying U.S. Army, Guard or Reserve members and honorably discharged Army veterans, or students whose parent, spouse or child has served, who are pursuing an accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing or anesthesia program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must not be currently receiving funding by a component of the Army, such as ROTC or GI Bill® benefits.

The Army Scholarship Foundation opportunity is available to children of U.S. Army soldiers in good standing, spouses of enlisted active duty Army members, or children of Army members who received an honorable discharge or medical discharged, or were killed while serving.

The Blackhorse Scholarship helps educate the children of Blackhorse Troopers killed in action or incapacitated by wounds.

The Capt. James Ahn Special Forces Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a Special Forces veteran who is working toward the completion of a higher education dgree.

The Foundation of the 1st Cavalry Division Association offers scholarship grants for children of U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division soldiers who died or were totally and permanently disabled as a result of wounds received or disease contracted while serving with 1st Cavalry Division in any armed conflict. Children of members of the Association who died while serving with 1st Cavalry Division in peacetime and active duty soldiers currently assigned or attached to the Division, and their spouses, are also eligible.

The Green Beret Foundation offers scholarship opportunities for the children and spouses of current or veteran U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers.

The National 4th Infantry (IVY) Division Association offers scholarships including:

  • E.R. Smith Memorial Scholarship for the children and step-children (eligibility ends at age 25) of soldiers of the Fourth Infantry Division who died while serving with the Fourth Infantry Division in Iraq, Afghanistan and/or the War against Terror since 9/11.
  • Legacy Educational Scholarships for regular members of the Association in good standing who may apply for a scholarship for their children, step-children, grandchild or step-grandchild.

The Night Stalker Foundation offers scholarship opportunities to active duty Night Stalker soldiers and the spouses and legal dependents of current and veteran Night Stalkers.

The 101st Airborne Division Association and Screaming Eagle Foundation scholarship program is for the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and spouses of a current or deceased regular of life member (not associate member) of the 101st Airborne Division Association. 

The Second Indianhead Division Association (2nd Infantry Division) offers the Bill Creech Scholarship opportunity for high school or college students who are the children, stepchildren, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of members of the Association who have been in good standing for at least three consecutive years before the application filing date, or of service members killed in action while serving with the 2nd Infantry Division.

SAPA offers two scholarship opportunities:

  • General scholarships for current SAPA members and the spouses, children or grandchildren of current or deceased SAPA members.
  • Captain Sean P. Grimes Scholarship for U.S. Army active duty, reserve, veteran, retired and National Guard members who have been accepted to or enrolled in an ARC-PA-accredited PA program or are an NCCPA-certified PA admitted to or enrolled in an accredited advanced degree program. Applicants must meet additional eligibility requirements.

The Society of the 1st Infantry Division offers competitive scholarship opportunities for the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of former members of the Division, as well as for children of active-duty 1st Infantry Division soldiers and attached units. 

The Special Forces Association Scholarship is for SFA members in good standing, or the dependent children or grandchildren of an SFA member in good standing, or a deceased member who was in good standing at the time of death. 

The 25th Infantry Division Association's Educational Scholarship Award is for the children and grandchildren of Association members who have been active for at least 12 months prior to application, and for the children of former members of the Division who died during or as a result of active combat.

The VII Corps Desert Storm Veterans Association offers scholarships for U.S. Army VII Corps veterans and family members. Applicant must have served, or be an immediate family member of those who served, with the Corps in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm or Provide Comfort or one of the support base activities.

Coast Guard

The Coast Guard Exchange Scholarship Program provides scholarships to outstanding applicants who are dependents of Coast Guard active duty, Reserve and retired members, current civilian NAF and APF employees and current Coast Guard Auxiliarists who meet eligibility requirements.

The Coast Guard Foundation provides various scholarships for enlisted Coast Guard members and Coast Guard families.

The CWOA offers educational grant opportunities including:

  • CWO John A. Keller, Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association Scholarship Grant: For dependent children of members in good standing or who were members in good standing of the CWOA, U.S. Coast Guard at their time of death.
  • CWOA LT Art and Eleanor Colona Scholarship: For dependent children of enlisted (E1-E9) members of the U.S. Coast Guard (active, retired or reserved).

Navy and Marine Corps

The Anchor Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships to eligible children and spouses of active duty, retired and honorably discharged Surface Navy personnel.

The Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund offers scholarship opportunities for dependent children and non-uniformed spouses of active duty, retired, honorably discharged, Reserve or deceased U.S. Navy service members with the title of Chief, Senior Chief or Master Chief Petty Officer.

The Dolphin Scholarship Foundation's competitive grants are for qualifying high school or college children/stepchildren and spouses of members or former members of the submarine force or those who have served in submarine support activities. The 1st Marine Division Association offers scholarships for qualified U.S. citizen children of U.S. Marine or Navy Corpsmen who served in or supported or was attached to the Blue Diamond Division and is deceased or disabled.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation offers scholarship opportunities for children of active duty, Reserve, honorably discharged veteran or deceased U.S. Marines, as well as children of select Navy service members attached to a Marine unit. Requirements include demonstrated financial need and a 2.00 minimum GPA.

There is also a scholarship opportunity for grandchildren whose grandparent has documented membership in the 531 Gray Ghost Squadron Association, Marines’ Memorial Association or USMC/Combat Helicopter Association.

The Navy League Foundation offers scholarships to high school seniors who are the dependent child, step-child, grandchild, step-grandchild or great-grandchild (direct descendant) of a current or former member of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or U.S.-flag Merchant Marine, or a current member of the Navy League of the U.S. The student must attend an accredited institution of higher education in the fall of the award cycle.

The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society offers scholarships and interest-free loans for the dependent children and spouses of qualifying Navy and Marine Corps service members, as well as loans to active duty Sailors and Marines enrolled in an MECEP/MECP program.

The Navy Seabee Foundation offers scholarships for the children and grandchildren of America’s Fighting Seabees, Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officers and those who served with the Naval Construction Force.

The Wings over America Scholarship Foundation offers scholarship opportunities for qualifying dependent children, spouses and grandchildren of active duty, retired, honorably discharged or deceased enlisted or officer U.S. Navy personnel who serve or have served in U.S. Navy Aviation. Spouses and children of members of the U.S. Navy who died while on active duty serving within a U.S. Navy Aviation command may qualify regardless of the length of service.
