The A-1 Auto Transport Annual Scholarship is for students with a 3.00+ attending a truck driving school or other logistics program.

AFCEA International and its chapters and partners offer Educational Foundation and Chapter Scholarships for undergraduate sophomores and juniors with a 3.0+ GPA, and for graduate students in their second semester enrolled in at least two full courses per term with a 3.5+ GPA.

The Air Force Aid Society General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant is for U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force family members, including children of active duty and select reserve, retired, retired reserve and deceased members; and spouses of active duty and select reserve and deceased members, for undergraduate studies.

Allied Van Lines' military scholarship program helps students further their education.

Annually, two recipients will be awarded 1,000 dollars towards their education. This scholarships is for military logistics/supply chain management and operational management majors as well as an equivalent majors such as business, business operational management and other like majors.

As a company, Allied Van Lines would like to offer opportunity to receive this scholarship in order to alleviate some of the financial burden that a college tuition presents.

 

 

The American Legion offers a number of scholarships and other resources to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. There are opportunities for everyone, including kin of wartime veterans and participants in Legion programs.

Provides college scholarships for surviving children of post 9/11 service members who died on active duty or post 9/11 veterans who have a combined VA disability rating of 50% or greater.

The Army Women’s Foundation recognizes the importance of education and the role it plays in personal, professional and economic fulfillment. The Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program provides grants to women soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Legacy Scholarship Program offers financial support in four areas: Certificate programs, Community College coursework, Undergraduate Degrees, and Graduate Degrees. Scholarships are awarded only for coursework from accredited institutions. Scholarships are based on merit, academic potential, community service, letters of recommendation, and need.

  • Community College and Certificate Program Legacy Scholarships will be awarded up to $1,000.
  • College, University, and Graduate Program Legacy Scholarships will be awarded up to $2,500.

Available to financially assist Veterans who have exhausted government aid, or who might not otherwise have the financial means to continue their education.

AMVETS National Scholarship Program annually awards scholarships to veterans/active military, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. A son, daughter, or grandchild of a deceased veteran is also eligible. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and financial need, the scholarships go to deserving high school seniors, high school JROTC students, and veterans pursuing a higher education. The following scholarships are awarded annually:

Three scholarships are specific to Veterans, Active Duty, Guard/Reserves:

·        The AMVETS Scholarship: $4,000 – ($1,000 awarded annually over four years). three (3) awarded each year

·        The Dr. Aurelio M. Caccomo* Family Foundation Memorial Scholarship: $12,000 –
         ($3,000 awarded annually over four years), two (2) awarded each year

·        The Henry G. Huestis Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 – (One payment of $1,000), one (1) awarded each year

Two scholarships are specific to children/grandchildren of Veterans, Active Duty, Guard/Reserves who are currently High School seniors:

·        The AMVETS Scholarship: $4,000 – ($1,000) awarded annually over four years) six (6) awarded each year

·        The JROTC Scholarship: $1,000 – (one payment of $1,000), one (1) awarded each year; JROTC ONLY

* The Caccomo Memorial Scholarship is in memory and honoring Dr. Aurelio M. Caccomo, who immigrated from Rome to the United States in the 1950’s and became a physician, orthopedic surgeon, and Army Reservist. He served his adopted country in the Special Forces and retired as a Colonel. Dr. Caccomo spent the last fifteen year of his life serving at the University of Illinois in Chicago under the Department of Orthopedics and establishing his Family Foundation, which provides these meaningful and impactful scholarships for our veterans.

Spouses, dependent children, and grandchildren of blinded veterans are eligible for the annual Kathern F. Gruber Scholarships and Thomas H. Miller Scholarship to assist them with their higher education tuition. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit through an application process that is evaluated by a committee. Gruber and Miller scholarships are for one year only but recipients can re-apply and receive the award up to four times. The blinded veteran family member is not required to be a BVA member for the spouse or child to receive a scholarship. Qualifications for both programs are the same except for an added emphasis on music and fine arts for the Miller award.

Scholarship Instructions

Captain James Ahn, a graduate of UC Riverside and the Claremont McKenna College Army ROTC program, died in 2015 during a parachute training operation while participating with his Special Forces unit in Washington State.

For all of us who knew and loved James, he will never be forgotten. He was the consummate person and professional who was respected by everyone he came in contact with.

In James’ honor, we are sponsoring an annual scholarship of $1,000 to a Special Forces Veteran who is working towards the completion of a higher education degree.

The spouse and children of members of the Navy who had the title of Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty Officer are eligible for this scholarship. The organization offers 60 scholarships of $2,000 for tuition and fees. The applicants must be enrolled in a U.S institution and submit three letters of recommendation.

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation provides college scholarships to the children of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who died in combat or in training. Scholarships awarded based on need, and intended to supplement other public and private sources of funding to cover tuition, room and board, or books at any accredited college or university. Amounts based on individual needs and available funding.

Scholarships to students who are dependents of Coast Guard active duty, reserve, and military retired members, current civilian NAF and APF employees, and current Coast Guard Auxiliarists that meet eligibility requirements.

Collects and disburses donations in support of Service Members and their Families in need, including assistance with airfare, special medical attention, college tuition for the children of Service Members and more.

Monthly stipend given to a former enlisted Marine leaving the Marine Corps to attend a four-year institution. This award recognizes a Marine who has demonstrated exceptional courage and integrity in the face of great obstacles.

As a member institution of the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME), students are eligible for generous scholarships to assist with their educational endeavors. CCME offers fifteen (15) $1000 scholarships each year to United States Service members (active duty/veterans) and spouses of Service members who are working toward the completion of higher education degrees.

Daughters of the Cincinnati Scholarship applicants must be high school senior and daughter of a career officer commissioned in the regular Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Marine Corp (active, retired, or deceased). When requesting application, provide: year in high school, qualifying parent’s rank, and branch of service.

Whitfield, Bryson & Mason LLP - Application Deadline 01/26/2021

WBM will award a $1,000 scholarship to two applicants in the form of tuition assistance at an accredited four-year college or university. Applicants do not have to be currently enrolled at a college or university at the time of application, but the scholarship must be used within one year of the award. WBM LLP will pay the scholarship directly to the school chosen by the applicant to help offset the cost of tuition. The scholarship is open to all veterans of any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces who have a disability rating of 30% or higher. Feldman Law Firm PLLC - Application Deadline 02/05/2021

The Feldman Law Firm will be awarding an educational scholarship for the benefit of disabled veterans. The scholarship will be for $1,000, and it will provide tuition assistance for the successful applicant. It is being offered to encourage disabled veterans to continue their education, and provide financial assistance toward that goal. The $1,000 disabled veteran scholarship is offered to eligible applicants who wish to attend a trade or vocational school, or a college or junior college. Applicants do not have to be enrolled in a school at the time they submit their application. We do require, however, that the scholarship funds be used within a year after the date on which it is awarded. The winning applicant will provide us with a tuition invoice from the educational institution he or she has chosen, and we will pay $1,000 directly to the school. In order to apply for the scholarship, you must be a veteran of any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States. You must also have a disability rating of 30% or higher. Applicants must fill out and complete the online application form and provide us with (upload) a statement of 125 words or less discussing your educational goals. (Optional) Provide us with (upload) an essay of not more than 850 words discussing how your military service has made an impact on your life. In addition, we may request proof of your veteran status, and proof of your disability. The application, together with any upload(s), must be submitted by February 5, 2018. The winning applicant will be notified on or before March 5, 2018. The winner will be selected by Adam Feldman, founder of The Feldman Law Firm, in his sole discretion.

This is a $1,000 scholarship being offered to disabled veterans. The winning applicant may use the award to defray the tuition cost at a secondary school, trade or vocational school, junior college, college or university. It is not required that an applicant be attending school at the time of the submission of his or her application. The successful applicant will have one year from the date of the announcement of the award to provide KLT with evidence of acceptance at a school. The funds will be paid directly to the education institution chosen by the applicant, to be applied to tuition. Eligibility for the scholarship is for veterans of any branch of the United States Armed Forces who have a disability rating of 30% or higher. We may request proof of your disability and/or your veteran status.To apply for the scholarship, the following actions are required: 1. complete the online application. You must also indicate your agreement with the terms and conditions of the scholarship program; 2. upload a statement of up to 100 words setting forth your educational goals; and 3. (optional) upload an essay (1,000 words or less) discussing the effect your military service has had on your life.

Scholarships for Military Children Program

The Scholarships for Military Children Program was created in recognition of the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community. It is the intent of the program that a scholarship funded through contributions be awarded annually for each commissary operated by the Defense Commissary Agency worldwide.

The mission of this education and professional support scholarship program is to help prepare military spouses for meaningful employment and to better contribute to their family’s financial security

Heroes' Legacy Scholarship

The "Heroes' Legacy Scholarships" program honors not only those who have fallen in battle, but all who have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001. The program is open to their dependent unmarried children under age 23. A disability is defined as one that results in the service member being eligible for, and receiving, Traumatic Service members' Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) or a permanent and total disability compensation rating of 100%.

The Florida ACME proudly recognizes our military members and veterans with $1,000 scholarship opportunities in three different categories annually. 

Applicants must meet one of the three criteria: reside in Florida; be permanently stationed in Florida as part of either the active duty, guard and reserve component; or enrolled at a Florida institution of higher learning during the application period of the award year (December 15 through March 15).  

  • Active duty, guard, or reserve service member of the U. S. Armed Forces
  • Spouse of any active duty, guard, or reserve service member of the U. S. Armed Forces
  • Veteran with an honorable discharge (must provide documentation)

 The application packet will consist of:

  1. a letter describing the applicant’s current educational goals;
  2. the completed application form with accompanying appropriate verifications; and
  3. evidence of current degree-seeking or certificate program status with an academic institution of higher learning (i.e., community college, college, or university), this evidence being:
  • letter of acceptance to the institution/program and/or
  • proof of recent class enrollment(s) within last 12 calendar months

The Higher Education Scholarship program was established to provide post-secondary scholarship assistance for spouses and dependents of our nation’s service members.

The Fund has awarded scholarships to sons and daughters of American heroes in the last several years. The Fund honors the bravery and dedication exhibited by Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country by providing educational scholarships to their children. Applicant must be a high school senior, a high school graduate, or enrolled in an institution of higher learning, including colleges, universities, or vocational schools.

The Foundation exists to pursue the Berkmans’ longstanding dedication and commitment to higher education in the United States, particularly higher education preparing future leaders and promoting the growth of knowledge into effective business and administration. In addition, the Foundation aims to recognize particularly the achievements of the men and women who have served this country in military service.

The Foundation awards approximately 60-70 scholarships annually. Since 2014, 175 U.S. Veterans have received scholarship awards with over 20 of them having earned a Combat Infantryman Badge. Also, 231 students pursuing a marketing major have received scholarships, and twenty research faculty have received grants to pursue research aimed at furthering knowledge about marketing. In total, the Foundation has awarded over $450,000 in scholarships and grants.

Veteran Scholarship

Criteria

Scholarships are limited to U.S. Citizens who are matriculating in a university accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Given the particular interest in supporting the education of U.S. Veterans, the Foundation seeks to award scholarships to U.S. Veterans and especially seeks students holding a Combat Infantrymen’s Badge, suffered a serious injury due to combat action (such as a missing limb), received a Purple Heart, served or continue to serve with honor and distinction, or were honorably discharged from military service.

The veteran scholarship is open to all majors and areas of study.

Brigadier General Albin F. Irzyk Veteran Scholarship

The Harold and Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation has established this scholarship in honor of Brigadier General Albin F. Irzyk. Brigadier General Irzyk’s World War II exploits include action at the Battle of the Bulge, where he commanded 74 tanks and 3,500 troops, and was in a tank that was hit by German fire. In April 1945, Irzyk’s battalion liberated the first concentration camp in Germany. After WWII, Irzyk commanded the 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Europe in the 1961 Berlin Crisis. And in the Vietnam War, he led commands in Saigon during the 1968 Tet Offensive.

Irzyk retired from active duty in 1971, with the Distinguished Service Cross, two Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts, as well as the Distinguished Service Medal, three Legions of Merit awards and 11 Air Medals.

Scholarships are limited to U.S. Citizens who are matriculating in a university accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

This scholarship is be awarded to an outstanding veteran scholarship applicant. The winner will be selected from veteran scholarship finalists by the review committee.

The Irzyk Veteran scholarship is open to all majors and areas of study.

The H&P Veterans helping Veterans Scholarships

The disability attorneys at Hill & Ponton are honored to represent veterans. To give back even more, they are now offering four $1,000 scholarships to help veterans further their education and enter a career field that would, in turn, help other veterans.

Like other federal grants, Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants provide money to college or career school students to help pay their education expenses. However, Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants have special eligibility criteria.

Who can get an Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant?

You may be eligible to receive the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant if 

  • you are not eligible for a Federal Pell Grant on the basis of your Expected Family Contribution but 
  • meet the remaining Federal Pell Grant eligibility requirements, and
  • your parent or guardian was a member of the U.S. armed forces and died as a result of military service performed in Iraq or Afghanistan after the events of 9/11, and
  • you were under 24 years old or enrolled in college at least part-time at the time of your parent’s or guardian’s death.

How do I apply?

You should start by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. You will have to fill out the FAFSA form every year that you’re in school in order to stay eligible for federal student aid.

What should I do to maintain the grant?

You will have to fill out the FAFSA form every year that you’re in school. After you have done that, your school, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education, will determine your eligibility for an Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant.

Once you have earned a baccalaureate degree or your first professional degree, or have used up all 12 semesters of your eligibility, you are no longer eligible to receive an Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant.

Spouses of those who are on active duty or veterans can get up to $5,000 in scholarship to get an undergraduate, graduate, or vocational training degree. They must provide military status of their spouses and a valid marriage certificate.

The Purple Heart Scholarship Program is a competitive scholarship program that awards scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children, and grandchildren each year.

To be eligible to apply for a Purple Heart Scholarship, each applicant needs to be a member of one of the following categories:

  1. A Purple Heart recipient who is also a member of MOPH,or
  2. The spouse of a Purple Heart recipient who is a Member of MOPH, or
  3. The direct lineal descendant (child, step-child, adopted child, grandchild or step-grandchild) of a Purple Heart recipient who is a Member of MOPH, or
  4. the spouse, widow/widower, or direct lineal descendant as defined above of a service member killed-in-action or who died of wounds. If the Purple Heart recipient is listed as killed-in-action or died of wounds, supporting documentation must accompany the application.

Eligibility

Applicants must be military active duty, honorably discharged veteran, or a spouse from any branch of the military.

This scholarship is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. They must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application. And, are enrolled, or do enroll no later than the fall of 2021 in an accredited institution of higher learning.

To apply for the scholarship, all applicants have to do is complete a short entry form and submit a 250-word essay, answering the question: "How has your military service better prepared you to enhance your education?"  The $1,000 tuition voucher can be used for any cost related to his or her college.

The Pensacola Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (PMOAA) has a long history of awarding scholarships to eligible beneficiaries.  Our program is dedicated to LT Omar Selland, USN (Dec) whose vision and driving force initiated the program in 1994.  A scholarship is perpetually awarded in his honor and is presented at the annual awards ceremony.  The President’s Award and the LT Selland Award are funded by annual donations from our members.  Mrs. Anna Johnson, an Army widow now deceased, left a bequest to our scholarship program and at least one (1) scholarship is perpetually awarded in her honor.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY:

PMOAA is well known for the generosity of its members in funding and awarding these annual scholarships.  One hundred percent of your donations go directly to help deserving children/step-children, grandchildren/step-grandchildren and spouses of active duty, honorably discharged veterans, reservists or retired military personnel (both officer and enlisted) of all eight Uniformed Services. Surviving spouses and children whose military parent retired and subsequently expired are also eligible.  

The applicant and/or military sponsor must be, at the time of application, a resident of the area served by PMOAA, i.e. Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties of Florida and South Baldwin County of Alabama.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Applicants for our program must have completed their first year of attending an undergraduate accredited college or university as full-time students during the current academic year.  Scholarships are awarded to the same recipient for no more than three (3) school years, retroactive.  

Scholarships are $2,000 each and awarded on an annual basis.  Recipients are selected based on:

  1. Verification of Eligibility
  2. Career objectives, community/college activities, essay, transcripts verifying cumulative GPA and quality of application.

Judges are PMOAA members.  An annual scholarship awards ceremony is held in early August for personal congratulations as well as disbursement of funds.

Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association administers a scholarship made annually to enrolled eligible students, of accredited colleges, universities, technical schools, and career institutions.

Eligibility:

·        Kinship Requirement: Scholarship recipients must be immediate dependent (legal son, daughter, or spouse) of a U.S. aircrew member listed as KIA or MIA from any combat situation involving U.S. Military from August 1964 (Vietnam Era) through the present; or Military aircrew member killed as the result of performing aircrew duties during a non- combat mission; or a RRVA member currently in good standing or was in good standing at time of death.

·        Kinship Not Required: To provide educational assistance to individuals in fields related to aviation and space (Kinship to deceased aviator not required). Selections based on financial need, demonstrated academic achievement, college entrance examinations, and accomplishments in school, church, civic, and social activities. Scholarships cover tuition, fees, books, and room and board. The scholarship award will be an amount determined by the student’s demonstrated need, available funding, and priorities established by the RRVA and administered by the Scholarship Committee.

TEACH Grant Initial and Subsequent Counseling and A TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve (ATS) so that you may receive one or more TEACH Grants to pay for your education.

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant is different from other federal student grants because it requires you agree to complete a teaching service obligation as a condition for receiving the grant, and if you don't complete the service obligation, the TEACH Grant will be converted to a loan that you must repay, with interest.

Air Force Aid Society Education (AFAS) Fund

Air Force Aid Society Education (AFAS) Fund, since its inception in 1942 has been committed to helping Air Force members and their families realize their academic goals.

General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program provides need-based grants to full-time college undergraduates who are dependent children of active, Title 10 and Title 32 AGR, retired, and deceased Air Force members, spouses of active duty members, and surviving spouses of deceased Air Force members. Students must be full-time undergraduates and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

AFAS Merit Scholarship

Each year AFAS awards a number of merit based scholarships as a complement to the needs-based support allocated through the hallmark Arnold Education Grant program. Scholars who are being considered for the Arnold Education Grant may also be evaluated on academic merit and considered separately for an AFAS Merit Scholarship.

Foundation of the 1st Cavalry Division Association

Foundation of the 1st Cavalry Division Association, offers scholarships for up to four years to:

  1. Children of those soldiers of the 1st Cavalry Division of the U.S. Army who died, or were totally and permanently disabled to the extent of preventing performance of any work for substantial compensation or profit as a result of wounds received or disease contracted while serving with 1st Cavalry Division in any armed conflict.
  2. Children of members of the 1st Cavalry Division Association who died while serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in peacetime.
  3. Children and grandchildren of soldiers of the 1st Cavalry Division, USAF Forward Air Controllers and A1E Pilots, and War Correspondents who served in designated qualifying units involved in the battles of the Ia Drang Valley during November 3–19, 1965.

Society of the 1st Infantry Division Scholarship Program

Society of the 1st Infantry Division Scholarship Program offers:

  • DePuy Scholarships, named for General William E. DePuy, the 1st Infantry Division Commanding General who started the program during the Vietnam War, are provided for children of soldiers killed in combat or training accidents while serving in a unit assigned or attached to the 1st Infantry Division and authorized to wear the 1st Infantry Division patch. More than 1,300 of these scholarships have been awarded.
  • Huebner Scholarships, named for Lieutenant General Clarence L. Huebner, who commanded the Big Red One during World War II, are competitive scholarships for children or grandchildren of soldiers who have served in the 1st Infantry Division of the

U.S. Army are eligible to compete for these scholarships.

Army Emergency Relief (AER)

Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private non-profit organization with the primary mission of providing financial assistance to soldiers and their dependents in time of valid emergency need.

  • MG James Ursano Scholarship Program was established in 1976 as a secondary mission to help Army families with undergraduate college expenses for their dependent children. Program offers scholarships based on financial need, academics, and leadership/achievement. Available to dependent children of soldiers (active duty and retired) and orphans of soldiers who died while on active duty, or while in a retired status. Funds used for tuition, fees, books, supplies and school room and board either on- or off- campus as requested by the student.
  • Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program (SSEAP) is a need-based education assistance program to provide spouses of active duty and retired Army soldiers, and widows (ers) of Army soldiers who died either on active duty or in a retired status, and residing in the U.S., with financial assistance in pursuing educational goals.

Blackhorse Scholarship, helps educate the children of Blackhorse Troopers killed in action or incapacitated by wounds. Scholarship candidates must be a child, stepchild, or spouse thereof, or the child of a veteran trooper who served, or is currently serving, with the 11th ACR and current member of the BHA in good standing. Essay required.

National 4th Infantry (IVY) Division Association Scholarship Trust

National 4th Infantry (IVY) Division Association Scholarship Trust was created by contributions of officers and enlisted men of the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam as a “Living Memorial” to the men of the Division killed in action or died in the line of duty while serving in Vietnam.

  • Memorial Scholarships shall be awarded to the child, children, step-children or legally adopted child or children of those soldiers of the Fourth Infantry Division who died while serving with the Fourth Infantry Division in Iraq, Afghanistan and/or the War against Terror. Membership in this Association is not a condition precedent.
  • Annual Scholarships - A regular member of this Association in good standing may personally apply for, or may submit an application for, a scholarship for his or her child, children or step-children, legally adopted child or children and/or grandchild, grandchildren or step-grandchildren.

Anchor Scholarship Foundation

Anchor Scholarship Foundation offers 43 scholarships to dependents of active duty or retired personnel who served in commands under the administrative control of Commanders, Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Atlantic or Pacific Fleets for a minimum of six years after 1975. Applicant must be a high school senior or a college student in an accredited school or equivalent educational institution. Applicant must intend to work toward a BS or BA degree full time.

Dolphin Scholarship Foundation

Dolphin Scholarship and Laura W. Bush Scholarship currently sponsors 127 students. on a competitive basis, to high school or college children/stepchildren (unmarried, under age 24 at time of deadline) of:

  • Members or former members of the Submarine Force who have qualified in submarines and have served in the Submarine Force for at least eight years; or of
  • Navy members who have served in submarine support activities (e.g., submarine bases, tenders, and rescue vessels) for a minimum of ten years.

This scholarship must be credited towards your tuition and related college expenses (such as fees, books, supplies, and course-required equipment.) Excess funds, if any, may be applied only toward room and board

Wings over America Scholarship Foundation Mission is to provide college scholarships to dependent children and spouses of all U.S. Navy Personnel — officer and enlisted — active duty, retired, honorably discharged, or deceased who served within Naval Air Forces. Recipients are selected on the basis of scholastic merit and community service.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc. provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships to deserving sons and daughters of current or former U.S. Marines in their pursuit of higher education. Also provide a very limited number of scholarships to children of Navy Corpsmen who serve or have served with Marines. One-year scholarships are awarded annually and are limited to undergraduate studies at accredited educational and/or technical institutions.

Additionally, Heroes Tribute are given to the children of Marines and the children of Navy Corpsmen serving with the Marines whose parent is killed in the ongoing Global War on Terror. Current scholarship recipients must reapply each year and are limited to a total of four awards.

Scholarship for Active Duty or Veteran of any branch of service including the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army National Guard.  This scholarship is for undergraduate students attending a 2 or 4-year college or university.  Student must be 18-years old.

The VFW and one of its major supporters, Sport Clips Haircuts, have again partnered to help our veterans and their families. The VFW's "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship" will provide service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. It’s just another way to say “thank you” to those who deserve it the most.

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship creates opportunities for family members of service members and Veterans to achieve their educational dreams. The scholarship program, launched in 2012, is funded by contributions from Veterans United Home Loans and its employees. 

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship will be awarding up to 10 one-time scholarships for up to $50,000 for this upcoming semester.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for this scholarship award, applicants must be:

  • To be a surviving spouse or a surviving child of a deceased service member, from a service-related death OR a veteran with a 100% service-connected disability.
  • Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university for the upcoming semester
  • Pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, graduate, post-graduate or doctoral degree
  • Comfortable with sharing personal stories and aspirations with Veterans United Foundation
  • Able to provide the following within three business days of application submission:
    • Deceased parent or spouse's military documents (DD214 and death certificate /or DD1300)
    • Official benefit letter showing disability rating (if applicable)

The AFCEA Educational Foundation and AFCEA NOVA offer merit-based scholarships for active duty and war veterans. The application is open to sophomores and juniors with a 3.00+ GPA who are enrolled in specific STEM programs at four-year institutions.

Students actively pursuing a credential/licensure for the purpose of teaching science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) subjects at a U.S. elementary, middle/intermediate and high schools are eligible. Current credential and licensure students must have completed a bachelor’s of science degree.

In addition to the online application, other required documents include: 

  • Current official transcript(s) issued by the school registrar's office reflecting ALL undergraduate-level study 
  • At least two letters of recommendation from field-of-study professors. If that is not possible, we will accept recommendations from commanding officers/employers in the related field of study. 
  • DD214 or current service paperwork showing OCO service. Do not submit with SSN.
