Pat Crawford

Biography

Pat Crawford has more than 44 years of experience managing public media organizations for universities across the country. Mr. Crawford has directed the WUWF Public Media team since 1982. On special occasions (RadioLive and member drives), he is even allowed on air.

As executive director for WUWF, Mr. Crawford has the pleasure of working with an extraordinary group of passionate professionals dedicated to enriching the lives of everyone touched by public media. He leads a dedicated group of creative individuals serving an audience from Mobile, Alabama to Destin, Florida with the highest standards of public service in journalism and cultural expression.

After receiving a bachelor's degree from Hampden-Sydney College in economics and a master's degree from the University of Arizona in public broadcast administration, he began his professional public media career at WSIU-TV/FM at Southern Illinois University. From there he moved on to manage WFDD Public Radio at Wake Forest University before finding his way to the best public media organization in the United States.

Mr. Crawford also served as associate vice president for University Marketing and Communications from 2000 to 2007 at UWF.
