The mission of the Argos Suit Up program is to assist UWF students and alumni in building their professional wardrobe for job/graduate school interviews and future employment.

About Argo Suit Up

Each Spring, the University of West Florida partners with JCPenney to participate in the Argos Suit Up! program, a national initiative designed to assist students in building a professional wardrobe for job/graduate school interviews and future employment. This event allows UWF students and alumni to shop for professional attire at JCPenney at a discounted rate, which will be available to students and alumni on event night.

Preview Week

Want to avoid the lines on event day? Visit JCPenney the week before Argos Suit Up and find items you are interested in purchasing. Take them to the register and ask the cashier to place them on hold for event night. You will be able to find out on event night if all of your items on hold are part of the sale.

Argos Suit Up Financial Assistance Program

The financial support application process is open January 6, 2025-February 18, 2025.

At UWF, more than 65 percent of students demonstrate the need for financial assistance. The average cost of a business suit is more than $200, which is unaffordable to many students. Through fundraising efforts and generous donations, the Office of Career Development and Community Engagement will provide financial assistance to current students and recent alumni who demonstrate a need that aligns with the mission of the program.

How to Apply for Financial Assistance for Argos Suit Up

Current degree-seeking students and recent alumni can apply for financial assistance by submitting a short video discussing how they will be positively impacted by receiving financial assistance for professional dress.

Note: In order to access Big Interview, you will need access to your UWF student email account and a computer with a webcam and microphone.

Visit MyUWF and search for Big Interview.
Click the link at the top of the page titled “Interviews.”
From the drop-down menu that appears, click the link for "Interview Assignments."
On the Active Assignments page, enter the assignment code ca77ec in the code field. Select "Go".
Record your responses by selecting “Start recording.”
Select “Stop recording” when you are done. A green check mark indicates your response has been successfully saved.
Select “Re-record” if you aren’t satisfied with your response. This will overwrite your existing recording.
When you finish recording all responses, select “Submit Assignment.”

If you are unable to complete the recorded interview portion using Big Interview, please use these alternate submission instructions.

Please submit a typed document that discusses the following:

Please discuss how receiving financial assistance for professional wear will assist you in meeting your future career goals.

Once you have completed the responses, email the document to Timothy Moore (tmoore3@uwf.edu) by Monday, January 13, 2025, at 5 pm CST.

JCPenny Chance Drawing Gift Cards

On the night of the event, a select number of JCPenney gift cards will be awarded through chance drawings, so be sure to attend!

Chance Drawing Rules

Argos Suit Up! will include chance drawings conducted per the following procedures:

No purchase or contribution is necessary to participate.
The drawings will take place at the event JCPenny (7171 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32504).
Participants must be present to win.
Personnel involved with planning the event or paid employees who are working during the event are not eligible to participate.
Only students currently enrolled at the University of West Florida and recent alumni are eligible to participate.
The winner will be selected at random from the eligible participants via a ticket drawing. If the winner is selected but is not present and does not confirm their presence at the time of the drawing, another winner will be selected.
Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash value.

Eligibility

Financial assistance is only available to currently enrolled, degree-seeking UWF students and recent UWF alumni. If you receive financial assistance or a gift card through the Argos Suit Up program, estimated financial assistance (EFA) will be considered as part of your Financial Aid package. You must be able to attend the Argos Suit Up event in order to receive the award. You may only receive one award per academic year from the Argos Suit Up or Professional Development Fund.
