Want to improve your paddling skills? With your Nautilus Card, canoes and kayaks may be checked out from the customer service desk of the HLS Facility during normal business hours.

Canoes

Canoes are available for use on campus at the Bayou behind building 13, near the nature trail boardwalk (see the campus map). At the service desk you'll pick up paddles and pfds (life jackets) and receive a key corresponding to a lock on one of the canoes. A valid Nautilus Card can reserve up to one canoe, three PFDs, three paddles, and three seat pads. Canoe checkout is for same day use - all equipment and the key must be returned by the close of the HLS Facility on the same day of checkout. There are no reservations; checkout is first come, first serve.

Kayaks

Kayaks are available for use off campus. At the service desk you'll pick up paddles and pfds (life jackets) and be escorted to our boat storage area. It is your responsibility to secure kayaks to your vehicle. A valid Nautilus Card can reserve up to two kayaks, two PFDs, and two paddles. Kayak checkout is for one day use - all equipment must be returned by the close of the HLS Facility on the day following checkout. There are no reservations; checkout is first come, first serve.
