Dr. Harold Bryan Crosby was selected as the first UWF president and assumed office in July, 1964, and passed the baton to Dr. James Arthur Robinson, second UWF president, in December 1974. Dr. Morris Leon Marx was inaugurated in September 1988. Dr. John C. Cavanaugh became UWF’s 4th president, and the first named by the Board of Trustees on July 15, 2002. Effective July 1, 2008, Dr. Judy A. Bense was appointed by the UWF Board of Trustees as interim president to temporarily fill the position left vacant when Cavanaugh assumed the role as chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Dr. Robinson (left), Dr. Marx (center), and Dr. Crosby (right) are the three former presidents who have served the UWF community. All have contributed greatly to the successes and advancements of the university.
