I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Susan Stephenson as interim chief budget officer at the University of West Florida. Dr. Stephenson will provide strategic financial data and analysis to guide the university through these tumultuous financial times. Her expertise is well suited to make positive contributions in a time where financial health and stability is of vital importance.

Dr. Stephenson has worked as the executive director of the UWF Foundation since February 2005. Prior to joining UWF, she worked at the University of Arkansas in a variety of positions serving the institution for 13 years. Stephenson also teaches in the Masters in Student Personnel Services program in the College of Professional Studies and holds multiple professional certifications.

She will fill the position vacated by Dr. Barry Brighton nearly one year ago. During the next six months she will also continue her stellar work as the executive director of the UWF Foundation in a part time capacity. I appreciate her willingness to serve the institution in this expanded way. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Stephenson.
