The Philosophy and Religious Studies department offers a Certification in Applied Ethics. This certification will provide students with a thorough understanding of the moral world for their professional and personal lives. The program is interdisciplinary; it builds on ethics courses taught in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies and on courses with ethics related content found throughout the University of West Florida. The Certification offers a balanced, comprehensive program that will provide students with an understanding of moral complexities in their field.
The Certification is open to all majors who have a need or desire to learn to evaluate current moral issues and to employ ethical considerations in their chosen field.

Please review the program requirements for the certificate in the Applied Ethics program. Students interested in participating in the certification program should complete the Declaration of Participation Form and deliver it to the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. In the semester the student anticipates completion of all requirements, the student should deliver to the Department the Application for Completion Form by the end of drop/add week.
