Independence Day

The Independence Day holiday will be observed on Thursday, July 4, 2013. All University Work Force (UWF) non-exempt employees who report work hourly, and who do not work on this day, record 8.00 hours (pro-rated for part-time) of holiday pay for Thursday, July 4. Those who were required to work, indicate 8.00 hours of holiday pay (pro-rated for part-time) and hours actually worked as hours of special compensatory leave earned. Special compensatory leave is earned for hours actually worked on the holiday up to 8.00 total hours. Employees who work flex schedules with work days in excess of eight hours will receive 8.00 hours of holiday pay; any additional hours must be covered by using accrued leave (ex. 10.00 hour work day is reported as 8.00 holiday and 2.00 hours annual leave). If this holiday fell on your regularly scheduled day off, record 8.00 hours of special compensatory leave earned.

If you have questions, please contact Jeff Comeau at 850-474-2610 or Christine Niemann Dillard at 850-474-2508.

Financial Planning Assistance Available

For many of us, summer is a time of readjusting and goal-setting for a new academic year. Now might be a good time to reflect on your finances as well. If you did not have a chance to attend the Financial Planning Series workshops in March and April, or if you are simply interested in learning more, take a moment to review the variety of resources provided by MyFRS. You may watch any of the recorded seminars online at your own pace during a time that is convenient for you, or register for a live webinar.

All employees are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to reassess financial goals and take steps towards achieving them.

If you have questions, please contact Adrian Rowley at 850-474-2604.
